Alfred in the Autumn

Now that the hoopla of Cynthia Rowley and Lela Rose has calmed down, we'd like to point your attention to a few new styles from Alfred Sung that have sneaked into the mix. As an affordable and fashion-forward line, Alfred Sung has been extremely popular. The Dupioni Bateau Dress and the Sweetheart Draped Bodice Dress are consistently two of our top sellers.

The easy mixing and matching and fun styles continue with the fall season additions. Sung has definitely upped the level of sophistication, and notice there are now even more bold colors and two damask prints to choose from!

Super Rush to the Rescue!

We recently added a Super Rush option to our delivery menu on the Dessy Group dresses. This applies to all Alfred Sung, After Six, Dessy Collection, Cynthia Rowley, and Lela Rose lines. We know life gets busy, especially when planning a wedding. So whether you forgot to order your dresses in time for Regular or Rush delivery, decided on a short engagement, or needed to add another bridesmaid to your party, Super Rush can be the saving grace to a sticky situation. It's an extra $75 per dress, but it ensures that you will get your dress in 6 weeks from the date you place your order. The dropdown delivery menu on the dress product pages lists accurate real-time ship date estimates provided by the manufacturer.

And for those of you who have really put things off to the last minute (like I often do!), Dessy also offers a Special Order Rush which can ship in 5 weeks. There's limited availability for this option, so contact us ASAP. Don't forget to build in an extra week or two so you can bring the dress to your tailor for alterations. If your turnaround is very tight, it's helpful to inform your tailor ahead of time so they can plan it in their workload and you can look your very best!

Ooh La La for Lela

In our continued flurry of adding new dresses this month, we have to admit we are most excited about today's launch of Lela Rose dresses. For those who haven't heard of Lela Rose, (where have you been!?), she is a Dallas native who first garnered national attention when she designed the Bush twins' inauguration daywear. In 2008, she created a mix of dress styles for Jenna Bush's 14 bridesmaids. The wedding industry must agree with her, because she now has established herself as a tour de force with both a bridal gown and bridesmaid line that women simply drool over.

From chiffon rosettes to soft scoopnecks to tatted lace, Lela has incorporated many of her signature design elements into her bridesmaid dresses. We especially love these styles because they are fashion-forward and wearable and versatile for all occasions. Her ready-to-wear collection easily runs over a thousand dollars, so these dresses are truly a steal!

3-2-1 Launch!

Unless you're an ostrich with its head stuck in the sand, anyone reading wedding blogs knows that The Dessy Group and Cynthia Rowley have been ramping up the publicity of their new line. There have been launch events in select cities, and we dropped by Cynthia Rowley's boutique last week for the NYC kickoff. Because even though we'd already seen the dresses, we can't stay away from a good party.

It was, as Cindy Dessy called it, a "balmy" day, with a sweltering heat wave passing through. Imagine a tiny boutique packed with girls, bloggers, and photographers where a small window unit provided the only air conditioning relief. But everyone made the most of it. It was a fun and lively event, and we were wooed by Fiji water, beautiful peony arrangements, macarons, and most importantly, gorgeous dresses! We hope the line does well and we look forward to seeing more of Cynthia Rowley's whimsical and feminine designs. Cynthia Rowley dresses are here!

It's a little under the radar for now (I suppose we're treating it as the preview before the official splash page announcement next week), but if you look at our Bridesmaid "Shop by Brand" category, you'll notice that we've now put up the new Cynthia Rowley bridesmaid dresses!

In keeping with our practices of editing the selection of dresses available on our site, we are not featuring the whole line, but check out the Dessy Group price list on our customer service page for all the styles listed on a master list. Just contact us if you are interested in ordering a dress that does not have its own product page and we'll take care of you from there.

Another tweak to our site: a pockets category to "Shop by Style" so you can browse our extensive collection of dresses that provide hidden pockets for your bridesmaids. Trust us, they will be forever grateful. I recently attended an event wearing a dress with pockets and I don't know how I survived until now without them!
