From the Red Carpet to Your Wedding Day

I think I speak for most girls when I say the highlight of awards season is seeing all of the gorgeous gowns by top notch designers, and last night's Academy Awards had a few pleasant fashion surprises! First off, two lovely ladies from "The Help".

How adorable was Emma Stone as a presenter last night? Her fire engine red dress reminded me of Nicole Kidman's Balenciaga gown in 2007, but with a youthful and softer look. Octavia Spencer knocked it out of the park all awards season with smart and stunning fashion choices. Both dresses reminded me of similar trends that popped up from this Spring season, Alfred Sung's Style D534 and Dessy Collection's Style 2854.

Next up, some of my favorite TV/film actresses, Tina Fey and Rose Byrne.

I love that Tina continues to be more daring with each awards season (remember when she used to only wear plain black in boring styles?). Her deep purple Carolina Herrara gown and Rose's Vivienne Westwood gown show that tiers and one shoulders are still going strong, which we see in After Six's Style 6597 and Dessy Collection's Style 2858.

Last but not least, some color trends!

Both Michelle Williams and Cameron Diaz were a breath of fresh air in their eye-catching frocks. In her red carpet interview, Michelle described her Louis Vuitton dress as a coral color. Dessy's equivalent of coral is their Firecracker, which is available in most styles, and Cameron's off-white dress reminded me of Dessy's Cameo, which is a neutral nude tone.

Congrats to all of the winners last night, including another well-deserved Oscar for Meryl Streep, our fellow New Jersey native!
