Real Weddings Round-Up: Take it on the Shoulder

Today we're paying homage to our lovely shoulders, because it's trendy and fun to show them off! Luckily our designers have plenty of original and flirty looks to pick from.

Bride Marissa sent us this lovely photo with her girls in Lela Rose Style LR140XX in Bordeaux. The renaissance satin fabric has a subtle matte finish that makes the dress very rewearable for other events.

And from the wedding blogosphere, here's a bridal party wearing Dessy Collection Style 2787 in the color Ginger, which can be found in our Additional Styles page.

It's also natural to mix and match one shoulder looks with other styles, like this chiffon peplum skirt dress from Wtoo, Style 915, in Indigo.

A newer twist is the off the shoulder look, such as Dessy Collection's Style 2844 in Rose. It's the perfect solution to give you coverage if you're a little more self-conscious about your arms, but still want a bare shoulder look. The other bridesmaids are wearing Dessy Collection Style 2832 in Cameo.

While we're at it, why not mix the two trends together, like this Lela Rose set? So many great choices!

Real Weddings: Kady and Jon

Today we are featuring Kady and Jon's chic Midwest wedding! The ceremony was held at St. Edwards Church followed by a reception at Ashland Country Club.

Since Jon and Kady live in Alabama, the wedding required long distance communication, so it was Kady's mom to the rescue! Talking to her on the phone 23 times a day for ideas was Kady's favorite part of planning. That's really sweet to hear because weddings can often also cause undue stress with family members!

Kady's bridemaids wore Alfred Sung Style D498 in Italian Plum. When asked about her experience ordering with Joielle, Kady said:

With Joielle I was able to see pictures of the bridesmaid dresses non-airbrushed which helped a lot. They are very affordable and it's nice to be able to have a company to contact with questions with personal, fast responses.

Kady's favorite moment on her wedding day, "besides marrying my best friend ;)" was walking in to the big white tented reception as they announced them as Mr. and Mrs. She wasn't involved in the tent decorations so it was a surprise for her to see how beautiful it turned out.

Congrats Kady and Jon! May your love and friendship continue to deepen and flourish in marriage!

Real Weddings: Vonda and Rankin

Today we feature Vonda and Rankin's southwestern wedding that took place at Binns Winery in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The happy couple recalls a non-traditional start that became one of her favorite memories.

"Rankin and I threw tradition out the window and saw each other before the ceremony. We decided to do a "First Look". Our photographer had Rankin stand under a gazebo so that I walked up behind him and touched him on the shoulder. I loved that moment with him, his smile, the way he held me, we both teared up a was very sweet and truly special"

Vonda's bridesmaids wore Alfred Sung's Style D438 in peau de soie fabric. We love the splash of lime green in their accessories that complement the bold Fruit Punch color perfectly!

The best part of wedding planning for Vonda was the cherished girlfriend bonding time. She loved going to bridal shows and picking her wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses together. And speaking of shopping for bridesmaid dresses, Vonda shares:

"Joielle was perfect for us. I called a few times to make sure I understood the sizing and the time of delivery. Each time the associate was so kind and patient. I also emailed Tammy several times and asked a million questions. She was fantastic! We love Joielle!"

Thank you for your kind words Vonda. You and Rankin are an adorable couple and we wish you all the best!
