Last Call to Order Discontinued Dessy Styles!

This week, Dessy will be discontinuing many of their older styles, including their entire Cotton Voile, Chiffon, Gauze, and Silk Shantung fabric lines. The old Chiffon is now completely replaced by Lux Chiffon, which is a softer and tighter woven fabric, and it does live up to its name of being more luxurious!

We're sad to see some of the perennial favorites go, such as Style 2823,  Shirred Sweetheart Cotton Voile Dress with Pockets, shown below in Midnight, and Style 2804,  Draped Bodice Strapless Gown, shown in Flame, but Dessy is making room for some wonderful new Spring 2013 styles which we will be unveiling in just a few short weeks.

If your heart is set on any of the discontinued styles, you still have until this Thursday 4:00pm EST to place your order, and Dessy will put your dresses into production. So don't delay!

Real Weddings: Erin and Keith

Today we're showcasing Erin and Keith's wedding, which took place this past spring just a hop, skip and a jump away from us at Liberty House Restaurant located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ.

Unfortunately, Liberty State Park was severely hit by Hurricane Sandy and the clean up and repairs are estimated to take months. We hope things get back to normal soon, especially since it is a very special place for New Jersey, taking tourists to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and a great wedding venue with breathtaking views of the Hudson River and lower Manhattan.

Erin's bridesmaids wore After Six by Dessy Style 6574 in Cornflower Chiffon. The crisp light blue is a striking shade for both outside and indoors.

This best-selling dress style is actually being discontinued by Dessy next week because they are phasing out their Chiffon fabric for their newer Lux Chiffon, so you'll have to act fast if you're considering it for your bridal party!

The groomsmen also wore matching Cornflower satin vests, ties and pocket squares from the Dessy Mens accessories line.

Erin shared that she and Keith loved celebrating with friends and family and their favorite part of the wedding was after all the formalities were over and they could just dance and have fun.

Congrats Erin and Keith! Best wishes to you and to everyone this Thanksgiving holiday!

Real Weddings: Joanne and Drew

Today we're featuring Joanne and Drew's vibrant fall wedding which took place just around this time last year in Highland Park, IL at Ravinia Park, also home to an annual music festival and the perfect setting for a couple who loves music and art.

When it came to putting together her bridal party, Joanne said she always knew that she would have her three older sisters as her bridesmaids. They had so much fun getting ready before the wedding together and dancing all night long. The girls wore Landa Designs' Style M768 in Laguna Blue.

"Deciding on bridesmaids dresses was the most difficult part of wedding planning for some reason. I kept getting hung up on the decision and search all over to find something great. I knew I wanted to find a halter style to match my wedding dress, and it was so nice to shop by style on the Joielle site. Joielle also mailed several swatches to me because I couldn't decide on a color. The whole ordering process was easy for my sisters and the dresses looked great! Just look how they pop in the photos. I was really happy with how it turned out."

Joanne's favorite moment was the Ketubah signing before their ceremony. Drew designed the Ketubah, combining Joanne's request for a tree with his own whimsical twist and play on words!

The favorite part of wedding planning for Joanne was taking dance lessons. They must have been naturals because everyone thought their dance was choreographed even though they were just winging it with steps they learned.

Congrats Joanne and Drew. May a joyful melody continue throughout your marriage!
