Real Weddings: Perennial Purples

Today we're excited to feature some lovely purple themed weddings. Purple is a color that's perfect for any season and can be regal, romantic and fun. You really can't go wrong!

Katelyn and Keebie were married in Huntington, WV at Heritage Farm. Katelyn's favorite part of planning was being able to make the wedding reflect her style perfectly, going with "rustic chic".

The special moment that stood out for Katelyn is when Keebie had tears streaming down his face during the ceremony. He's a tough guy and she's never seen him cry before!

Katelyn's bridesmaids wore Dessy Collection Style 2821 in African Violet, a tulle and satin gown, and added a flower belt for extra panache.

"Ordering from Joielle was great. The fact that with every purchase, even fabric swatches, a handwritten letter thanking me for the purchase was included showed the owners really cared about their customers."

Fara's wedding took place at Molly Pitcher Inn, a scenic waterfront hotel in New Jersey. Her bridesmaids and flower girl wore Dessy dresses in Persian Plum. We love that the photos really reflect the cheerful sentiment of the special day.

Finally, one of the most memorable wedding stories we've heard in a while. Dawn and Andrew were married at Living Word Lutheran Church with a reception at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott in Texas.

Dawn wore her mother's veil and re-combed it with the help of one of her bridesmaids, which involved very carefully snipping threads.

The bridesmaids wore mixed Alfred Sung styles in Italian Plum.

"I had six bridesmaids with different body types and needs. Joielle had a great selection of the dresses I wanted people to select from. It was affordable and easy as my bridesmaids were spread across the country."

If you thought you dealt with pre-wedding drama, Dawn actually broke her back sledding two weeks before the wedding! She flew in from Madison into Houston with her TLSO brace on, had to get emergency alterations on her gown and adjust some of her expectations (that's putting it lightly in our opinion!). Luckily, Dawn didn't let it stop her from enjoying her wedding day.

"I chose to walk down the aisle without my brace on, which my doctor did not recommend, but I decided it was worth it. As soon as the ceremony was over, my bridesmaids pulled off my dress and my maid of honor sister helped put on the brace. I'm laying on the floor in a church office thinking to myself "well I never thought this would happen!" as she tightens the Velcro as much as she could on the brace before trying to lift me off the ground. My other favorite moment was sitting with friends I hadn't seen in months, taking a breather from dancing (yes, I totally danced in a bulky brace!) and watching how much fun everyone was having."
